If you’ve booked in to one of our Street Fit Street Dance Fitness Instructors’ Courses, congratulations! You’ve taken a big step forward in the journey to a new and exciting future.
We want to do our best to make your day as welcoming as possible, so here are a few tips to help you feel prepared:
1. Arrive on time
Of course we understand there will always be unforeseen circumstances, but it is best al round if you arrive at least half an hour before your classes start. Therefore, make sure you know exactly where you’re going and how long it takes to get there. If in doubt, go to our become A Dance Fitness Instructor page. By clicking ‘register now’ beside your chosen course, you will access our interactive location maps including handy zoom and ‘street view’ functions.
Arriving early will give you plenty of time to register, receive your welcome package and fill in any forms. Getting to your class early is also beneficial because you can grab one of the coveted spaces near to the instructor.
Finally, arriving early will mean you feel more relaxed and able to take in the information given to you.
2. Bring Cash and Cards
Cash is always handy in an emergency, or if you’re tempted by any merchandise that might be available. You should also bring your credit/debit card, especially if you intend to become an online member. Becoming a member is not compulsory but many Street Dance Fitness Instructors do choose to sign up.
For more details about online membership, visit our become a member page. You will get full details after successfully completing the Instructors’ Course.
3. Don’t Forget Food and Drink
In most Instructors’ Training Courses you will have an hour for lunch and additional short breaks. However, depending on your location, you may not have sufficient time to buy the food and drink you need. Please ensure you bring enough food and drink to last the day.
4. Bring the Right Gear
Wear clothes that are loose fitting and make you feel comfortable; bear in mind you need to be able to keep cool and move around. The best shoes for a workout are court shoes, aerobic shoes and hip hop or jazz dance shoes. Check out some of our newest Street Dance Fitness Fashion range.
Running shoes are designed for forward motion and are not recommended for street dance, although old, worn-out running shoes may be OK. If you intend to buy new shoes, try to purchase them a week or two before your Instructors’ Training Course. This will allow you to ‘wear them in’ and takes off some of the traction that can hamper movement.
5. Other Items to Pack
It is advisable to pack a towel, sweatshirt and a change of clothes. You are permitted to bring a camera but only still pictures are allowed to be taken.
